Our Story

THE CLUB. was born out of a shared passion for true wellness and the desire to create something deeper than just another Pilates studio. Founded by mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo, Diane and Chelsea, the vision was simple yet bold: to build a space that felt intentional, personal, and completely grounded in the true Joseph Pilates method. Not trend-driven. Not high-volume. But a studio where movement has meaning and intention, community has depth, and every client is known and valued.

As conversations around burnout and the relentless pace of modern life continued— and as Chelsea navigated the life-changing transition into motherhood in September 2024 — the need became clear: people are desperate for a place to slow down, reconnect, and prioritise their well-being in a fast-paced, demanding world that rarely allows space for it.

With Diane’s 16 years of Pilates experience and Chelsea’s background in business and marketing, the dream became something tangible. Supported by their family, with Chelsea’s fiancé Garrick helping build the studio after hours and on weekends, newborn baby in tow, and Kathleen, Diane’s daughter and Chelsea’s sister-in-law, stepping in as Studio Manager, THE CLUB. was shaped quite literally by the hands and hearts of the people who call each other family.

That is the essence of THE CLUB. It is more than a studio; it is a family-built, family-run space created with love, commitment, and a personal responsibility that extends to every client who walks through our doors. Here, you are not just attending a class, you are joining something intimate, intentional, and deeply connected to the wellbeing of each individual.

Diane Winn-Rooke

Diane is a Pilates Instructor with over 14 years of teaching experience and extensive training through a STOTT PILATES® Licensed Training Centre.

Her qualifications include Matwork and Reformer Pilates from Essential to Advanced levels, Functional Anatomy, and training in Special Populations, including pregnancy and rehabilitation.

Passionate about health, wellness, and movement, Diane is committed to ongoing education and staying up to date with the latest developments in Pilates.

Her classes focus on correct technique, mindful movement, and helping clients build strength, confidence, and long-term wellbeing..

Robyn Henderson

Robyn is a Pilates instructor with a background in occupational therapy and a passion for helping people develop a deeper connection with their bodies.

She tailors each session to suit her clients’ individual goals, abilities, and movement needs.

Combining clinical knowledge with mindful movement, Robyn’s teaching style emphasises control, precision, and body awareness.

Her classes are designed to challenge both the mind and body, helping clients build strength, confidence, resilience, and a lasting appreciation for movement..

Chantal Eshelby

Chantal began her career as a Personal Trainer in 2003 and discovered her passion for movement through Pilates.

In 2013, she completed her BASI Pilates certification and has continued to broaden her expertise through further training in mindful, functional movement.

She went on to manage and teach at a boutique studio in Johannesburg, specializing in Pilates, strength training, Dynamic Barre, and Sculpt classes.

After relocating to Cape Town two years ago, Chantal is excited to share her passion for movement, helping clients build strength, confidence, and lasting wellbeing

Gabriella E Silva

Gabriella is a qualified musculoskeletal physiotherapist, certified yoga instructor, and Pilates instructor with nearly 10 years of experience in rehabilitation, movement, and exercise.

Having worked across Australia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa, she brings a wealth of international clinical and teaching experience to her practice.

Her approach focuses on supporting rehabilitation, improving performance, and helping clients build long-term strength, resilience, and confidence in movement.
